AAA Editor Notes
Spouting Horn is near the fire station; at the roundabout turn s.w. onto Lāwai (Beach) Rd. and go 2 mi. to the end of the road. A Welcome to Po‘ipū Beach sign points to the spout. A fenced overlook provides viewing of the spout, which is formed when water from incoming waves rushes under a lava shelf and bursts through a small surface opening. A nearby blowhole emits a weird groan that local legend attributes to the hissing of a large lizard trapped within the lava tube.

Whales and dolphins sometimes can be seen from this site. The best time to see dolphins is in the mornings when they are more active. Whale season is generally December through April.
