Laupahoehoe Train Museum is on SR 19 at 36-2377 Māmalahoa Hwy. near Milepost 25. The museum depicts life when railroads were in operation in Hawai‘i, 1860s-1950, through photos and memorabilia. The largest line was a passenger/freight line with raw sugar as its main freight; one room is dedicated to sugar trains and plantations.
Video footage from 1916 of a running train can be seen. Also on the premises are a restored boxcar, engine and caboose on track from the rail line.
