AAA Editor Notes
‘Alekoko Fish Pond (Menehune Pond), on Hulemalu Rd. in nearby Niumalu, reputedly was built by the Menehune, Hawai‘i’s legendary “little people” who inhabited Kaua‘i before the migrations from the Polynesian islands. It is said that the Menehune formed a 25-mile-long human chain and, passing stones to each other, finished the pond in one night.
