AAA Editor Notes
Kuamo‘o Road (King's Highway), extending 2 mi. along SR 580, .2 mi. w. of SR 56, overlooks the Wailua River. Along SR 580 are two heiau (temples). ‘Opaeka‘a Falls, on SR 580, is a short distance beyond Poli‘ahu Heiau. This small, picturesque waterfall gets its name, which means “rolling shrimp,” from the shrimp that lay eggs in the many rocky pools at the base of the cascade.

Note: Heiau are culturally significant and should be treated with respect.

Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
