Herbert Hoover National Historic Site is off I-80 exit 254, then .3 mi. n. The 187-acre park contains several historic structures and the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum. The buildings include the restored two-room cottage in which Hoover was born; a blacksmith shop with many late 19th-century blacksmith and carpentry tools; the Quaker meetinghouse Hoover attended as a child; and West Branch's first school, which was built in 1853. The grounds also contain an 81-acre tall grass prairie.

On a knoll overlooking the park are the graves of Herbert Hoover and his wife, Lou Henry Hoover.
