South Bannock County Historical Center and Museum, off US 30 at 110 E. Main St., contains a collection of Native American and pioneer artifacts as well as a permanent exhibit showing the effects of transportation on the area and the six communities of south Bannock County. An interpretive exhibit details the interaction of Native Americans with the natural hot waters. Also featured are A Photographic History of 100 Years of Southeastern Idaho, exhibited through digital media, and a DVD documenting the history of past influential female residents. Also explored is the history of Charles and Nellie Ball, who were immortalized as characters in Owen Wister's “The Virginian,” the first western romantic novel.
