Clearwater Fish Hatchery

Clearwater Fish Hatchery is at 118 Hatchery Roe Dr. Interpretive panels throughout the complex describe the life cycles of steelhead, or rainbow trout, and chinook salmon, both of which are raised at the hatchery. A 1.8-mile pipeline delivers a constant flow of cool, clear water from Dworshak Dam to the facility. Smolts are released from mid-March through late April. Visitors can see adult chinook at the hatchery from mid-July to mid-September. A pond contains large rainbow trout.

Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
