Kohl Children's Museum is between Willow Rd. and Lake Ave. at 2100 Patriot Blvd. Based on the concept that children learn by doing, the museum is structured to allow a hands-on understanding of the world of science, basic life skills and the arts.
Exhibits include Water Works, where children can explore the properties of water, and a play construction zone. McCormick Foundation Main Street features such child-size businesses as a supermarket, a veterinarian office and a café. Turtle Rock is an interactive exhibit where you can watch several species of turtles swim and feed. Habitat Park, a 2-acre outdoor nature park, offers winding paths, a prairie grass maze, an underground tunnel and interactive sculptures.
