AAA Editor Notes
Reitz Home Museum is at 112 Chestnut St. The restored 1871 French Second Empire mansion was built for John Augustus Reitz in 1871. His son, Francis Joseph Reitz, redecorated the mansion in the 1890s. The house contains period furnishings, many of them original. Ornate hand-painted ceilings, intricate plasterwork, gilded chandeliers, decorative mantels, stained-glass windows and parquet flooring are evident throughout.

Guided tours are available.

$7.50; $2.50 (students with ID); $1.50 (ages 0-11).
Tues.-Sat. 11-3:30, Sun. 1-3:30. Tours begin in the carriage house; last tour departs at 2:30.
