Indiana Landmarks offers tours departing from various downtown locations. On the Monument Circle tour, which departs from the South Bend Chocolate Company at 30 Monument Circle, you'll learn all about the iconic monument and roundabout. Departing from the west plaza of City Market (222 E. Market St.), the 30-minute City Market Catacombs tour takes participants through the undeveloped passageways beneath City Market.
The beautifully restored Indiana Landmarks Center (formerly the Central Avenue Methodist Church) at 1201 Central Ave. is another tour option; this one departs from the center's lobby and lasts 60 minutes. Tours of the historic resort hotels in French Lick and West Baden Springs also are offered.
Note: Closed-toe shoes are required for the City Market Catacombs tour. This tour is not suitable for those with canes, walkers, wheelchairs or strollers, and it may not be suitable for those with breathing problems.
