Historic Wyandotte Caves is at 7315 S. Wyandotte Cave Rd. These limestone caverns in the hills of the Harrison-Crawford State Forest were first opened to tourists in the late 19th century. Prehistoric peoples used the caves for shelter and as a source of material for tools. Big Wyandotte Tour is a 2-hour, 1.5-mile trek over steep terrain including stairs and participants must be in good health; ages 0-5 not permitted. Little Wyandotte Tour is a 30- to 45-minute trek over easy to navigate terrain.

Note: Comfortable walking shoes and a jacket are recommended; the temperature is a constant 52 F.

Big Wyandotte Cave tour $18; $9 (ages 6-11). Little Wyandotte Cave tour $8; $4 (ages 6-11). Children under 6 are not permitted on the Big Wyandotte Cave tour. Prices may vary; phone ahead.

Big Wyandotte Cave tours depart Fri.-Sun. and holidays at 11 and 1, Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Little Wyandotte Cave tours depart Fri.-Sun. and holidays at 10, 11, 1 and 2, Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
