AAA Editor Notes
Grover Museum, 52 W. Broadway St., features permanent and changing exhibits that depict local history. You'll catch a glimpse of an early 1900s Shelbyville as you stroll along a cobblestone path and peek into storefront windows in the museum's The Streets of Old Shelby exhibit. Among the 26 period-furnished rooms are a bakery, bank, clothing store, doctor's office, grocery, post office, saloon and soda shop.
Railroad items, a working model train, a re-created one-room schoolhouse, and a dollhouse patterned after a late 1800s Victorian duplex also are of interest. If you enjoy old-time activities, check out a class or special event.
Time: Allow 45 minutes minimum.
