Ellis County Historical Society Museum

Ellis County Historical Society Museum, 100 W. Seventh St., is housed in 1879 and 1926 church buildings. A replica of an early schoolroom and changing exhibits of local settlers’ possessions are displayed. A harness shop features saddles from a local historic ranch. On the museum's grounds is the Hays Fire Department Museum, which features a 1927 and a 1936 fire truck, artifacts and memorabilia.
