Mid-America Air Museum, 2000 W. Second St., is Kansas’ largest aviation museum. Collections consist of military and civilian aircraft as well as aerospace aviation exhibits. Visitors can see World War II fighters and bombers, experimental and golden age aircraft and planes used in the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Features include the Liberal Army Airfield, Korean War exhibits, the Col. Tom A. Thomas Jr. Historic Aircraft Collection and a NASA exhibit. More than 100 aircraft are displayed, including such rare planes as the Grumman TBM Avenger, North American B-25, Rutan aircraft, Vought F4U-5N Crusader and the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk. Wind tunnel and hot air balloon exhibits are part of the Aviation Hall of Science.
