AAA Editor Notes
Kentucky Museum, located on the campus of Western Kentucky University at 1444 Kentucky St., relates the history of the state. Collections include furniture, paintings and decorative arts. The Civil War exhibit includes a simulated slave cabin, campsite and general store. One of Kentucky’s most famous people is profiled in the Recommended by Duncan Hines exhibit. Faces and Places features more than 40 quilts and textiles, while Instruments of American Excellence exhibits a large collection of ordinary tools used by Americans. Other displays cover local genealogy, agriculture, politics and 19th-century life, including a log house on the grounds.

Guided tours are offered by appointment.
