Thomas Edison House, 729-31 E. Washington St., was home to the prolific inventor during his brief tenure as a telegrapher with the Western Union Co. just after the Civil War. An early motion picture projector, cylinder and disc phonographs, several types of dictating machines and a collection of electric light bulbs are some of Edison’s inventions displayed. An 18-minute video presentation describes the inventor’s life and inventions.
