Western Kentucky Botanical Garden is 2 mi. w. on 2nd Street, then just n. to 25 Carter Rd. Now expanded to 12 acres, nine themed gardens showcase an extensive collection of daylilies, irises and roses as well as ornamental and perennial grasses. An early 20th-century doctor’s building is adjacent to the Herb Garden, which features herbs and plants used medicinally at the time. A symbolic Japanese memorial garden is arranged with hollies, lattice fences and stone lanterns.
