Behringer-Crawford Museum is off I-71/75 exit 191 (Pike St./12th St.), following signs to 1600 Montague Rd. in Devou Park. The four-story museum's interactive exhibits provide a trip through Northern Kentucky’s history from prehistoric mammoth fossils and ancient Indian artifacts to early settlement, the Civil War and the 21st century. Following a transportation theme in “Rivers, Roads, Rails & Runways” visitors can see a restored 1892 Kentucky streetcar, fish in the Ohio River, sit in a 1959 Buick Electra convertible to watch a drive-in movie and push buttons to activate the trains, lights and music of a miniature, mid-century community.

The museum also houses works by prominent regional artists, including primitive painter Mary Bruce Sharon, scientist/Expressionist Wolfgang Ritschel and Harlan Hubbard, whose simple, agrarian lifestyle on the Ohio River is chronicled in his paintings and books. Devou Park provides scenic views of Covington and nearby Cincinnati.

Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
