AAA Editor Notes
Abbeville Cultural and Historical Alliance is at 200 N. Magdalen Sq. Four local organizations jointly maintain this museum and art gallery. On display are artwork and artifacts about the 1755 expulsion of Acadian families from Nova Scotia as well as parish photos, documents and memorabilia. A World War II exhibit contains military artifacts.

A highlight of the museum is the Morgan Effigy, a carved deer antler found in a nearby Native American mound that dates from approximately 900 A.D. In addition visitors can see costumes and equipment from the annual Giant Omelette Celebration, part of an international festival celebrating this egg-rich creation. The art gallery presents changing displays of works by local artists.
