Afton Villa Gardens is at 9047 US 61. This 20-acre park is beside the ruins of a villa destroyed by fire in 1963. The gardens are approached through a Gothic gatehouse. Live oaks and azaleas line the avenue for a half mile. Stone steps lead to a formal boxwood garden. A ravine planted with daffodils and azaleas is especially colorful in the spring.
