Catahoula National Wildlife Refuge is 13 mi. w. on US 84. Nature trails, a 9-mile wildlife drive and two observation towers are part of the refuge, which protects 25,242 acres of natural habitat for native and migratory waterfowl and such animals as alligators, beavers, bobcats, deer and otters.

Hunting, fishing and ATV-use permits are required for those age 16 and over and may be purchased for $20 at the refuge or by mail.

Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
