AAA Editor Notes
The Printing Office of Edes & Gill, at 21 Unity St. on the Old North Church campus, is one of only three working Colonial print shops in the country. Located in the Clough House, one of the oldest brick residences in Boston, the living-history museum is named after Benjamin Edes and John Gill, who became the proprietors of the Boston Gazette in 1755. The site is staffed by costumed interpreters who provide printing demonstrations and discuss the effects printers and newspapers had on communities prior to and during the American Revolution.
