The Shirley-Eustis House, 33 Shirley St., was built in the mid-1700s in the Georgian style for Royal Colonial Governor William Shirley. The house also served as the residence of Massachusetts Commonwealth Governor William Eustis around the turn of the 19th century, when it was remodeled in the Federal style. Docent-led tours describe the architecture and history of the mansion, which features antique furnishings, portrait oil paintings and exquisite woodwork.

Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
