Whipple House Museum is at 1 S. Village Green (SR 1A). Begun in 1677, this timber-frame house was the sumptuous home of a successful Puritan family. The museum contains Colonial furnishings and decorative arts. The housewife's garden in front is planted with herbs known to have been used in the colony in the 17th century.
