Pilgrim Hall Museum, 75 Court St., opened in 1824 and is one of the oldest public museums in America. The two-story museum houses a collection of Pilgrim furniture, armor, decorative arts and an Early American painting collection. Highlights include a bible belonging to William Bradford, Plymouth Colony governor and primary drafter of the Mayflower Compact; the cradle of New England's firstborn; and the chair of Pilgrim leader William Brewster. In addition a historical treasure hunt for children is featured.
