Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum, in Hangar 1 at Brandon Airport, is dedicated to preserving the history of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan of 1939-45. It has many of the aircraft used for training, photographs, artifacts and memorabilia. Four of the 11 aircraft displayed are in flying condition. A chapel has a book with names of more than 18,000 Canadian Air Force personnel who died during World War II. A 300-foot granite memorial wall with a bronze airman at one end, features 19,286 names honoring Canadians and Americans who joined the Canadian Air Force before the United States entered the war, and British, Australian and New Zealand air force members who died in or near Canada.
