AAA Editor Notes
Prince of Wales Fort National Historic Site, at the mouth of the Churchill River, is accessible by boat only. A huge stone fortress built 1731-71 by the Hudson's Bay Co., the fort fell to the French without incident in 1782. Independent whale-watching boat tours, including those offered by Sea North Tours Ltd., usually include the fort on their itineraries.

Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
