Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum is at 901 W. Pratt St. The 40-acre indoor/outdoor museum's extensive collection of locomotives, both originals and replicas, dates from 1829 and includes several Civil War-era locomotives and railroad cars on display. In addition to examples of many types of engines, the museum contains railroad china and silver, outdoor train exhibition platforms, and an exhibit about railroad time and time pieces.

The shops that once surrounded the station built thousands of cars and engines and were known as “The Railroad University.” The station's focal point is the roundhouse dome covering a wooden turntable surrounded by 22 stalls that contain cars and locomotives. A 20-minute train ride also is available.

Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours, 30 minutes minimum.
