Spocott Windmill, 6 mi. w. off US 50 on SR 343, is a 1972 reconstruction of a post windmill that was designed and built by James Richardson, an accomplished boatbuilder. This is one in a series of windmills that have occupied this site since the late 18th century. Also on the grounds are a Colonial tenant house furnished in period, a blacksmith shop, a Civil War-era doctor's office and an 1870s one-room Victorian schoolhouse with a fireplace as well as desks and other related artifacts.
The windmill is operated intermittently and during such special events as Earth Day held in April and Windmill Day held in October.
