Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum, 813 S. Atlantic Ave., is at the s. end of the boardwalk on the inlet. Exhibits describe the history of the 1891 station and the many area shipwrecks and rescues. There are displays of early lifesaving equipment and related memorabilia, more than 190 samples of beach sands from around the world and shipwreck artifacts.

The Surfs Up! Riding the Waves of Change exhibit chronicles the sport of surfing and how it has changed, including surfboards, fashions, early conflicts between development and surfing beaches and what surfers are all about. A history of the boardwalk, beach fashions and a photographic exhibit of Ocean City history also can be seen. An aquarium room features local marine life and scavenger hunt activities are available for children. The Little Keepers play room offers activities geared toward children ages 3-7.
