Emily Dickinson Museum: The Homestead & The Evergreens

AAA Editor Notes
Emily Dickinson Museum: The Homestead & The Evergreens is at 280 Main St. The museum includes the Homestead, Emily Dickinson’s home and birthplace; and The Evergreens, the next-door home of Dickinson’s brother, Austin. Located in the Homestead, the Tour Center offers an exhibit about Emily Dickinson's poetry and is the starting point for all visits.

The 90-minute Emily Dickinson’s World tour affords exploration of both historic homes and a full account of Dickinson's life and work; the 45-minute This Was a Poet tour introduces visitors to the writer in her own home. A self-guiding audio tour of the grounds can be accessed via smartphone or through audio wands that are available for rent from the Tour Center desk.

Note: Only the first floors of the historic houses are wheelchair accessible.

Guided tours are available.
