Harvard Museum of Natural History, at 26 Oxford St. on the Harvard University campus, exhibits 12,000 specimens from the university's vast collections. Included are dinosaur fossils, meteorites, gemstones and hundreds of mounted animal displays of species from around the world.

Between 1886 and 1936 father-and-son glass artists Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka created the Ware Collection of Glass Flowers, which showcases models of plants, fruits and flowers. Visitors also can observe live knight anole lizards in the Islands: Evolving in Isolation exhibition. Other museum highlights include a 42-foot-long mounted kronosaurus, a 1,600-pound amethyst geode and three whale skeletons.
