Paul Revere House, 19 North Square, was built about 1680 and is the oldest house in downtown Boston. The restored home, which Paul Revere owned 1770-1800, contains 17th- and 18th-century furnishings and Revere memorabilia, including silver. A Colonial herb garden and a Revere-made bell are on the grounds.

Guided tours of next-door Pierce/Hichborn House, an 18th-century brick edifice, also are available for a fee.
