AAA/Greg Weekes
AAA Editor Notes
State House is at the head of Park St. at 24 Beacon St., across from the Boston Common. The original brick front section, designed by Charles Bulfinch and completed in 1798, remains almost unchanged. One of the government building's most prominent features is its dome, which is gilded in 23 karat gold. Statues sculpted by Daniel Chester French, Cyrus Dallin and Thomas Ball are displayed inside, along with historical paintings, stained glass and war relics.

Guided tours are available.
