AAA Editor Notes
Aptucxet Trading Post Museum is at 24 Aptucxet Rd. The museum is a replica of the trading post built on this site in 1627, perhaps the first such establishment on the continent. Exhibits include 17th-century furnishings and Pilgrim, Dutch and Native American relics. President Grover Cleveland's private railroad station; the Jefferson Windmill, named for actor Joseph Jefferson; saltworks; and an herb garden are on the grounds.
Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted.
