New Bedford Fire Museum is at 51 Bedford St. in Old Station No. 4, built in 1867. The museum exhibits restored antique fire trucks and pieces of historical fire equipment. Upstairs are helmets, coats and boots for children to try on; a bell to ring; and a 5-foot-long pole to slide down.

Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.

$3; $2 (senior citizens); $1 (ages 7-16).
Mon.-Sat. noon-4, early July-Labor Day. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
