Seven Oaks House Museum, 1.5 blks. e. of Main St. off Rupertsland Blvd. and Jones St. in W. Kildonan, is said to be the oldest habitable house in Manitoba. This sturdy building, with its stone foundation, hand-hewn oak timbers, hand-split shingles and buffalo hair-bound plaster, was built 1851-53. The house displays belongings of the original occupants and other period furnishings. An original 1800s general store stands beside the house.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
