AAA Editor Notes
Mount Clare Museum House is in Carroll Park at 1500 Washington Blvd. between Bush and Monroe sts. The only pre-Revolutionary mansion within the city limits, this 1760 Georgian-style house was the home of Charles Carroll, barrister and Revolutionary patriot. Originally part of an 800-acre plantation, the estate once contained wheat fields, a gristmill, an ironworks, brick kilns, racing stables, a shipyard and terraced gardens. More than 85 percent of the period furnishings are Carroll family pieces.

The house can only be visited by guided tour.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
