City Park, 501 Virginia Ave., features trails, pavilions, a tennis court and fountains. Lakes are home to fish, swans and other waterfowl as well as “The Fishing Lesson,” a bronze sculpture of two bears fishing—all of which enhance the scenic value of the park. The Peter Buys Band Shell hosts a variety of summer concerts and movies; benches and lawn seating are available. Also on the grounds are the Hager House and Museum and the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts (see separate attraction listings). The Hagerstown Railroad Museum (525 Highland Way) collection includes hundreds of items like signs and tools as well as eight cabooses, a pump car and a 1912 locomotive.
