Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum is off US 131 exit 85B at 303 Pearl St. N.W. Displays portray both the private life and public career of President Ford and include re-creations of the Oval Office and Cabinet Room during his term as well as the actual staircase from Saigon's U.S. Embassy. Exhibits also showcase Ford's Grand Rapids childhood, his 1942-46 naval career, his Congressional years and the turbulent decade that marked the beginning of his presidency. Programs, events and temporary exhibits are held throughout the year.

The triangular building has a glass wall that reflects downtown from the west bank of the Grand River. In the presidential library system, Ford's is the only site where the museum and library are not located together; the museum was built in Grand Rapids, his hometown and former Congressional district, and his library is in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan, his alma mater.

Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
