University of Michigan is e. on Huron St. to State St. The campus was formed with 40 donated acres and now covers more than 2,800 acres. Highlights on the central campus include the Gothic buildings of the Law Quadrangle, Hill Auditorium, Power Center for the Performing Arts, the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History, Kelsey Museum of Archaeology, University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA), William L. Clements Library and the 55-bell Baird Carillon at Burton Memorial Tower. Just east of the central campus is Matthaei Botanical Gardens.

The star of the south campus is Michigan Stadium, one of the largest college stadiums in the country with some 109,000 seats. Not far from the stadium in Schembechler Hall is the Towsley Family Museum, which details the history of the school's football program.

Among the features on the North Campus are the 60-bell carillon at Lurie Tower, engineering research laboratories and the School of Music building, designed by Eero Saarinen. The School of Music offers free recitals and concerts. Nichols Arboretum is on the medical campus; the medical center’s six hospitals serve more than a million patients annually.
