Rice Lake National Wildlife Refuge

Rice Lake National Wildlife Refuge is 5 mi. s. of jct. SRs 65 and 210 at 36289 SR 65. This 18,300-acre refuge is a haven for white-tailed deer, black bears, gray wolves, ruffed grouse, ducks and geese. Fishing and seasonal hunting are allowed in designated areas. Visitors can hike trails and take a seasonal, self-guiding wildlife driving tour. Trails leading into the refuge from the entrance offer good bird-watching.

Note: The wildlife drive is closed in winter west of Mandy Lake.
