The National Museum of Transportation is w. off the I-270 Dougherty Ferry Rd. exit at 2933 Barrett Station Rd. Trains, automobiles, buses, streetcars, horse-drawn vehicles, aircraft and boats represent 150 years of American history. In addition to more than 70 locomotives, the collection includes Bobby Darin's 1960 dream car, which cost more than $93,000 and took 7 years to build. Miniature train rides are offered mid-May through December.
Creation Station is a separate hands-on educational area where young children can explore different modes of transportation. The various play stations utilize puzzles, puppets, arts and crafts and other learning tools.
