AAA Editor Notes
Judy Garland Museum is 2 mi. s. of jct. US 2 and US 169 at 2727 US 169 S. (S. Pokegama Ave.). The museum is a tribute to the acclaimed singer and star of “The Wizard of Oz.” The white frame house where Garland spent her early childhood years is restored to its 1925 appearance, complete with period furnishings. Artifacts, photographs and oral commentary are all utilized in a timeline that presents a career overview. A gazebo stands in an adjacent memorial garden.

Memorabilia associated with Garland's life includes a cotton pinafore “test dress” similar to the one she wore in “The Wizard of Oz.” Also on display is the carriage—once owned by Abraham Lincoln—in which Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion rode off to see the Wizard in the classic 1939 film.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
