AAA Editor Notes
Lyndale Park Gardens is along Roseway Rd. (W. 41st St.), between Lake Harriet Pkwy. and King's Hwy. (Dupont Ave. S.). Located along the northeastern shore of Lake Harriet, the park contains a Rose Garden, a Peace Garden and a Perennial-Annual Display Garden. Annuals and perennials bloom seasonally from mid-June until the first frost.

The Rose Garden is an official All American Rose Selections test garden; varieties bloom from mid-June to early October. The Heffelfinger Fountain, originally from Italy, stands in the garden's upper portion. Unusual conifers and alpine plants grow in the Peace Garden, a block east of Lake Harriet Parkway; it also contains the Spirit of Peace Sculpture, which depicts the ancient craft of origami. A 14-foot-tall bronze crane sculpture honors Sadako Saksi, a girl who developed cancer from radiation unleashed by the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in World War II.
