Madison County Historical Museum and Archival Library is at 715 N. Main St. Housed in a restored Federal-style residence built in 1836, the museum contains period furnishings, Native American and pioneer artifacts, antiques and a variety of changing seasonal exhibits that include quilts, needlework and historic costumes. A history and genealogy reference library is adjacent to the museum.
Note: The museum will be undergoing renovations until early 2018; phone ahead for updates.
