The Magic House, St. Louis Children's Museum is at 516 S. Kirkwood Rd. The museum's hands-on learning experiences allow children to experiment, build creativity and develop problem solving skills. Families can explore communications, mathematics and science concepts through a variety of activities. Exhibits let kids become immersed in a giant bubble, stock grocery store shelves in the Children's Village and climb the three-story Jack and the Beanstalk structure.

Other areas include a three-story slide; an open-air plant science exhibit; a water playground; Kids Construction Zone; Solve the Mystery; and Star-Spangled Center, which includes a replica of the Oval Office. The electrically charged ball that makes visitors' hair stand on end is always a favorite.

For Baby and Me is a discovery area for children under 2, and Wonder Works is a special play area for children ages 2-8.

Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
