Museum of the Rockies is on the Montana State University campus at 600 W. Kagy Blvd. Home to one of the largest dinosaur fossil collections in the United States, the museum's Siebel Dinosaur Complex features a fully mounted Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton as well as other dinosaur specimens, dinosaur eggs, nests and sculptures. Other exhibits include the Paugh History Hall, which offers an array of regional artifacts; Welcome to Yellowstone Country showcases the history of tourism in the national park and examines the life and culture of Native Americans from the Northern Plains and Rockies; the Living History Farm (open in the summer only), a historically accurate, late-1800s Montana homestead; and the Martin Children's Discovery Center.

The museum also features the Taylor Planetarium, which presents a breathtaking journey through the cosmos.
