Belly River Country is accessible by trail from Many Glacier through Ptarmigan Tunnel, from Waterton Lake over Stoney Indian Pass, or from Chief Mountain customs station on Chief Mountain International Rd. Spurs are available to Helen, Cosley, Glenns, Mokowanis and Elizabeth lakes and Gros Ventre and Dawn Mist falls. The region is wild and heavily forested in some places.
A 33-mile drive through the Chief Mountain area to Waterton Lakes National Park of Canada offers scenic views. Waterton Inter-Nation Shoreline Cruise Co. operates a launch on Waterton Lake early May to mid-October (weather permitting).
