AAA Editor Notes
Montana Historical Society Museum, Library and Archives is across from the state Capitol at 225 N. Roberts St. The history of Montana and the West is recounted through an extensive collection of Charles M. Russell's paintings and sculpture in addition to frequently changing exhibits. The Montana Homeland exhibition uses more than 2,000 artifacts, photographs and documents to trace Montana history from the end of the most recent ice age through World War II. A highlight is the display of “Big Medicine,” a rare white bison with blue eyes and tan hooves born in 1933.
